hakioawa Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I'd like to take 4-5 newbies for their first outdoor experience. The goal is to teach lead belaying, rapping etc., more so than to get a lot of routes in. Any suggestions for this weekend? Vantage will be in, but crowded. Any suggestions in 11worth? Quote
rob Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 (edited) rotowall seems to be where everybody else takes newbies to learn in leavenworth. Also Barney's Rubble. Both are nice because they have walk-ups/walk-downs if you need them. Edited April 6, 2012 by rob Quote
DPS Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 My wife likes Bruce's Boulder and The Hand as well as Non Vertical Smile. Quote
obwan Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 There's also a place called XY Crag that is very short and easy to communicate with the climber (not intimidating), and close to the road. Quote
cascadesdj Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 There are plenty of easy routes in the riverview park area of Vantage that are not crowded. Quote
