Farrgo Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Who's done it? Gear beta? Pictures/antidote psych? Quote
keenwesh Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 I've looked up at it, never had the urge to check it out. http://www3.telus.net/public/7394243/climbing/offwidths/episode5.html all the episodes on here are hilarious, read away. Quote
bigwallben Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Did it back in 05' or 06' with rock wizard Drew Philbin. Borrowed Rudy's Valley Giant Cam and clipped the one bolt mid pitch. BD # 6 only worked in a tipped out position for the first 20ft of the pipeline pitch, and then was worthless... I'm sure one could use Big-bros if you're into that sort of thing. Earlier in the morning we did "Dancing in the Light" on the Apron as I recall; which provided a stark contrast of climbing styles to pipeline.. It can't be that bad since I suck at offwidths. Good luck. Oh, and having a shoe size bigger than mens 6 would help, alot. Quote
RuMR Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 echo Ben's comments...VG #9 is the go to piece past the bolt...not much until later but by then the climbing is waaaaay easier... Quote
bigwallben Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Yeah, its not that bad; and certainly not harder than the narrows pitch on the steck-salathe. More people should do Pipeline. It is quite splitter, in an angled kind of way. Quote
StreetBoss Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 To think the first ascent was solos....holy xmas. Did with crackmeister Chet Morits. He used big cams and the bolt at mid point. Big battle and well worth the ride. The approach pitrches are fun as well. Quote
