aclark20 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Anyone been up to Ingalls recently? Where's the snow level at around there? Thinking about E Ridge this weekend, but unsure if it'd still be in. Thanks Quote
DPS Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 (edited) I did the East Ridge of Ingalls some years ago in mid October after a snow storm. It was a really fun mixed rock, snow and verglass climb. Very worthwile in its snowy condition IMNSHO. Linky to trip report: http://www.alpenthyme.org/alp/ingalls101004/ingalls101004.htm Edited October 13, 2011 by DPS Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I could see a good chunk of Stuart from Granite Mountain (Snoq. Pass) last weekend. It looked to be at least dusted with snow probably down to the 7000' level and maybe lower. Quote
ilookeddown Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I climbed it mid October last year. There was a dusting on the ground but rock was mostly dry. The forcast is call for a 20%-30% chance of snow Friday and Friday night with accumlations of less than 1/2". Saturday and Sunday mostly summy with hight temps in the high 30's/low 40's depending on the elevation. I would say by noon sunday it would be dry on sun exposed rock but you never know until you go. You could always do the south ridge as a backup if the east isn't dry. Quote
chubler Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 (edited) Was up on the south ridge Sept. 23rd - trail and route snow free then. East ridge as well. Probably snow in the last couple of weeks though. Mountain-Forecast: http://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/Ingalls-Peak-South-Ridge/forecasts/2335 I agree with above - if forecast holds, this weekend may be snow free. Even with snow, it would be a great climb. Edited October 13, 2011 by chubler Quote
