I'm looking for a few people to go up Rainer this February. I'd like to climb with you a few times prior to then, maybe Hood in January beforehand. The routes I am looking at are the DC, Ingraham direct, or ideally the Gibraltar ledges. Let me know if this gets you stoked.

Hi Ryan,

My name is Matt and I'm a freshman at UW. I moved up here from AZ specifically for the mountains. I've done a lot of hiking, climbed Mt Whitney June 2010 and attempted Mt Hood with Timberline Mt Guides this July but turned back at the Hogsback due to weather. So I have very little climbing experience. I have class 3 days a week and plan to be climbing every week during the other four. I know Rainier is a significant undertaking, but I'm very dedicated to learning and becoming proficient. If you are very experienced and willing to act as a teacher to an amatuer, I would very gladly do as much climbing prior to Rainier as possible and learn the ropes, and then give it a shot for your proposed trip. Let me know what you think!

Thanks a lot,

-Matthew Hobson

I'll be living up there starting mid March if you can't hit it up in Feb. Gib Ledges is still on my bucket list.

I've lead the DC and ID routes and really don't have a lot of interest in doing them. More looking at Gib Ledges or Nisqually that time of year.
