I messed up the descent on SEWS Saturday night (followed friendly looking rap slings and foot steps down a nasty gully). Anyway, 4+ hours later, we are out two ropes. They are stuck at a rap station in the middle of this gully. If some suffered the same fate, managed to free the ropes and is feeling generous, let me know. Thanks!

Luckily you got down. Losing one is bad (many of us have done so) but losing two is really adding insult to injury. Best of luck on some sort of retreival Val!

Why not try and get ahold of Larry Goldie or Jeff Ward at North Cascades Mountain Guides in Mazama. Those guys and others with their guide service are around there as much as anyone.

Hi Val,

I'm the guy that wasn't on the climb, white van. I may be heading backt o that area soon so let me know if you get them back and I won't go looking. Also, I think I have a green knife of yours, maybe part of a set?

Hey John! You'd really go down that couloir?! You were the only one of us that didn't get suckered into descending that thing in the first place. I'll let you know if I hear anything about the ropes. Thanks! It was nice to meet you last weekend!

lol my brother and I got suckered into (read as I convinced him to go down) that way. Figured it was best due to the hoards coming up behind us. Needless to say we won't be doing that again. Sorry to hear about your ropes. Best of luck getting them back.
