yellowlab03 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Hey just wanted to say hello, and introduce myself. Brand new to this whole climbing/mountaineering thing. Been back packing in the Sierras (Stanislaus Nat'l forrest) since I was 7 (30 now). Have lived in WA for about two years and figure I might as well take advantage of the area and try out some new stuff. My mountain experience includes schlepping heavy loads up and down mountains in Eastern A-stan and that is about it. Never used ropes, ice axes, crampons etc... I have done military ropping (rappeling and such) but nothing major. Anyhow, just here to read up and learn some stuff. Quote
rob Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Schlepping heavy loads around is like 90% of the work. Welcome. Quote
