duckfeet Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 A few of us are looking at heading over to leavenworth in a week for spring break. What's it looking like up there now? Any ideas what crags may be in better shape, get more sun, etc? Quote
genepires Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 in the icicle, start on the east end south facing side. Places like trundle dome, oprahs navel area, ski tracks crack (ironic huh?) melt out sooner. The farther you go into the valley, the more snow usually. Also, the hobo gulch is south facing, right near town so it should be snow free sooner. Though it looks like your biggest obstacle may be rain and relatively cold temps. If so, peshastin calls. Quote

Dave A. Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I was up there on Wed. Most of the rock in the lower canyon was dry and the access was reasonably dry. Boulderers were out at Mad Meadows and Forestland. Hobo Gulch looked good, and there was a couple climbers there. As genepires said your biggest issue will be the weather but you should be able to climb any day it's not raining. Dave A. Quote
