there is a falcon closure as of 2/1/11. Not that familiar with the area where the closure is but skyline, friction slab and neighboring areas are the falcons home. There was a photo on the trail which shows the locations but not cliff names so you gotta use yur brane! So don't trespass of falcon property. They are there now.

powerline wall is not in the closure area. I think snag was not in closure either. Can someone with a clue state what is out?

We have a little information on this at the WCC site.

Mt. Erie profile.

Snag Buttress and climbs to the right are open as are the Cirque and Power Line Wall.

This is a slightly revised copy of the original closure photo. After I called and asked John Lundsford at Anacortes Parks, they said it was OK to climb ZigZag and revised the photo with that little zig zag at upper right.

A list of closed walls/cliffs would be:

1) Friction Slab

2) Lumpy Crag

3) Humpty Dumpty Wall

4) Skyline area - West,Central and East

5) SAC Slab

6) Ramp Wall

7) West half of Main Wall/Snag Buttress (with the exception of Zig Zag as mentioned)

Still plenty to get on.

The Falcons are pretty awesome to watch as well.

I received this message today:

After consultation with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife biologists the Peregrine Falcon nesting area has been reopened to rock climbing. It appears that the falcons were unsuccessful in their attempt to reestablish a nest. The area that was previously closed was near the Skyline Arête. Thanks to all who helped us by posting signs around the closure area and encouraging others to observe the voluntary closure area.
