Anybody feel comfortable sharing what they make as Aerospace Contract engineers?

I'm currently working Direct but the company direction is changing so it's time to transition and I'm trying to get a feel for what the what the pro's / con's are for Contract work.

TIA

Google the salary surveys for direct positions, comp experience, then add 35 to 50% (as much as you can negotiate) if you're an independent contractor to cover extra taxes, vacation, and benefits you won't be getting.

Try not to sign any non-compete agreement that extends past the last day of your contract.

Try not to go through a contract agency...way lower hourly rate, worst of all worlds.

Contract Engineer or Consultant? Contract Engineer, ime, isn't substantially better pay wise than fulltime after accounting for vacation, retirement and healthcare absent spousal arbitrage but does offer more flexibility. In a macro sense I'd be worried about the cyclical aerospace industry
