I just got to Vegas and the red rock campground is closed for "improvements" until october 1. I don't really want to drive to the other free camping way out of town. Any word on good neighborhoods to urban bivy in a small rv?

Walmart on Charleston.

Depending on the night, the security guard who patrols the Borders parking lot is either a friendly dude who didn't mind us cooking some food there, or a gruff Irishman who kicked us out.

Costco could also be an option.

Several of the Supertopo folks live in Vegas. Might be worth throwing up a post on that forum to see if anyone has a parking spot at their place they wouldn't mind opening up to you.
