Forbidden Couloir Condition?

Anybody been up there within the last week? How's the couloir approaching the West Ridge, still a means of ascent?

 

Last year that thing was toast by August but that was a hot year.

 

Any info is appreciated.

Hopefully someone will post a recent pic for you, but regardless of its condition you can always climb the rocks to the left. Have fun!

I just got word from somebody who was up on the 6th and said the 'schrund was barely passable and the moat was getting nasty. They estimated a week left and with the hot weather coming I think the rocks will be the bet.

 

Taking a buddy up for his first alpine outing so was hoping the couloir would be in for the variety it adds.

How protectable are they? Or is it just scrambling?

Low 5th class...some downsloping ramps...easily protected...solid rock.
