Crillz Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Figured some peeps would have current conditions after the warm spell, and after this last weekend? How's the snow on the west side approaches? Good to go with tennies up the gullies? Also, is the SEWS S. Arete clear of snow? Any pics from this last weekend? Thx! Quote
t_rutl Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 SEWS and Liberty Bell are warm and dry. Approached that and LB in tennies but was a little sketch in the AM going up between LB and Concord. There is only snow for the last couple hundred feet though. Was hard before the sun hit it but did it just fine taking it easy. Much more snow though heading to SEWS but still fine in tennies. There was a guy up there in Chacos. All the routes look free and clear of snow. Blue Lake Trail is snow free. Quote
tanstaafl Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Burgundy Col is essentially snow free (although there is snow for melting if you bivy there), but you may not really think that's a good thing. Quote
mkporwit Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 We were up on Spontaneity Arete on the 11th. Approach is fine in tennies. We found very firm snow in the descent gully, but were able to bypass it. Things are melting fast out there. Quote
