this september me and my wife are headed down to yosemite for the first time, we will have a little over two weeks. any valley veterans have advice: what is the best guide book, what climbs are a must(5.10 and down), anything else you think someone should know. That kind of stuff.

For mid to long popular routes, get an alpine start. On some of those DD listed it's best to be the first party of the day, especially East Butt of Middle, lots of potential for party inflicted rockfall.

 

If you don't want to stay at Camp 4, you can cruise the other campgrounds looking for someone with only one car in their site who might be willing to share. Best to do that kind of patrol on foot so you can chat folks up.

I also am going down with my wife and perhaps a few other of the local Portland color in September (13-27). Be doing some mod stuff for one week then some big wallin. Shot me a pm if interested in meeting random dirt bags :)
