PLC Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 So, my wife just pooped out our third kid and I'll be doing a lot of solo forays into the Wilderness. She wants me to get a cheap cell phone for emergencies (mostly to check in and say "I'm on my way home"). Anywho - what carrier provides the best overall coverage in the North Cascades and Olympics? summitchaserCJB Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) Not to be the grammar Nazi but it is popped not pooped. By the way, I live in Woodinville too. Edited February 25, 2010 by summitchaserCJB Quote
cbcbd Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Verizon. I've had reception with it from some cool places. Quote
PLC Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Sounds like Verizon it is. And, "pooped" is what I meant... Quote
offroadfanatic Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I've had good luck with Cincular. Now AT&T. With reception on Half Dome in Yosemite and on the top of Mt. Hood. FYI. Quote
NS_Jackson Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) I'll tell you what - it is certainly NOT T-mobile. Can't usually get coverage in my neighborhood, much less in the mountains. Dad went hiking with me last year at Hidden Lake and had coverage right after getting back onto Cascade River road. (Verizon) Edited February 26, 2010 by NS_Jackson Quote
summitchaserCJB Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I vote for AT and T. Good reception on Baring, Chair, the Tooth, pretty good near Leavenworth. Quote
rbw1966 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I've had Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon has the best coverage in the PNW. Quote
