Second Mt Buckhorn - did the northeast peak a few weeks ago. Access is easy, nice views, and the northeast peak offers a nice scramble at the top.

First time up Rainier in September I wore a pair of Raichle GTX mountaineering boots - worked fine. My friend wore a pair of rented plastics and hated the stiffness. Have a pair of Scarpa Summits now that are AWESOME - warm and comfy.

I'll tell you what - it is certainly NOT T-mobile. Can't usually get coverage in my neighborhood, much less in the mountains. Dad went hiking with me last year at Hidden Lake and had coverage right after getting back onto Cascade River road. (Verizon)

That's it? I was really hoping you might have some useful route information - anyone been up the cleaver in the last couple of days? I'd be interested to hear how the route is doing after the storm. -Nick
