shapp Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 (edited) Trying to thin out some stuff I haven't used in a long time to fund the purchase of a new #4 Camalot and/or some new skis. I am the original owner of all the cams, they are all in good working order. In all honesty, they would make a pretty good starter set of cams if you already had a set of stoppers and hexes to get out there and climb a lot of shit to start the learning curve. Not willing to ship unless you send me a check and I wait till it clears first or you send me cash. Here is the list: 1 #2 Tech Friend $20 1 Trango #6 FCU (between red and gold camalot) $15 Sold 1 Metolius #10 FCU, $30 (the big one they don't make anymore, about the size of the old #4 camalot, bigger than a #4 friend Sold 1 Trango #8 FCU (about size of 3.5 friend or blue camalot) $20 Sold 1 Trango #4 TCU (1.5 friend size) $15 Sold 1 #2.5 Tech Friend $20 Sold 1 Trango #5 (between 1.5 and 2 friend size), now in working condition ($10) 1 CMI figure 8 (basically new) $5 1 Wild Country Breakman $1 1 #5 Campbell Wedge $10 (collectors) 1 #6 Campbell Salddle Wedge $10 (collectors) 1 Selewa Hammer ($20) 1 #1 SMC wired nut $1 1 #3 SMC wired nut $1 1 #1 chouinard wired hex $1 1 #3 chouinard slung hex $2 1 #4 chouinard slung hex $2 1 #13 chouinard slung stopper $2 1 #10 chouinard slung stopper $2 1 #7 chouinard slung stopper $2 1 #3 D-Best Quickie Slidder nut $20 (collectors) Located in Everett, send a PM Shapp The whole shooting match: The cams: All trad climbers need some nuts: D-Best Quickie: Campbell Wedges: Selewa Pin Hammer: Edited December 3, 2009 by shapp Quote
JosephH Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Not sure if it's the sort of thing you might entertain, but that D-Best Quickie would probably make a nice addition to either Yager, Karabin or Pennequin's museum collections. Quote
shapp Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 I will look into that if no one else wants it. I am sure they have some already though. Quote
JosephH Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I believe Karabin does, I don't think Pennequin or Yager do, though Yager is more Yosemite-focused compared to Karabin and Pennequin's boundless fanaticism over all pro. Quote
Kletterhund Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 (edited) As I am only an aspiring fanatic I think the D-Best Quickie is not a super common/available vintage piece. Always good to spread the wealth as one can ... Having two full sets (#1-#3) I did send a complete set of first generation Friends to Stephane last summer - now that IS a collection. I was surprised that he did not have a set being in Europe after all ... Edited November 25, 2009 by Kletterhund Quote
shapp Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 updated (trango #5 fixed into working condition) Quote
JosephH Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Kletterhund - just back in town, good for you. I'm as surprised to hear he didn't have a set. Never mentioned it, so I just assumed he had them. Quote
rocketparrotlet Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I might be interested in some of those cams, I'd like to take a look at them sometime. I live in Everett also. How are the slings looking? I could probably make something work out most nights this week, even tonight or tomorrow if it works for you. -Mark Quote
