stevetimetravlr Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Index, the closest thing to Yosemite, and only 4 hours from Portland instead of 13. Training at Index, you can go to the Valley and deal. The wide abides. There had to be one benefit topping out at midnight, you didn't have to wait in line to go down the cables with the masses. Not many people get the top of Half Dome to themselves, you DOG! Quote
Plaidman Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 We did have some fun. Here is some footage of us on The Grack. The Grack is on Glacier Point Apron. Plaidman Quote
fenderfour Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Argus and I were down in the Valley last week getting spanked by the big walls. We did a lap on Snake Dike. Fun route, but it's not really for a 5.7 leader. I like the description for the top out "Second class slabs FOREVER" Quote

Think of the sun and minus a blackhole. Very exciting and scary. We felt like we were on the dark side of the moon. Plaidman Edited October 17, 2009 by Plaidman Quote
