I probaly won't be able to take any mountaineering classes til next year. I was wondering if there are any dvd's out there that teach belaying and basic mountaineering to hold me over till next year? I searched and found a out of print dvd called waterfall ice but it didn't look like it was what i was looking for.

Thanks

not instructional, but if you want to get a stoke; Front Range Freaks, Masters of Stone I-VI.

Freedom Of The Hills is the best climbing resource out there. Get it now and start reading.

As a mountie, I should be praising Freedom of the Hills... and it is a good resource. However, for a contrarian, opinionated, and intelligent point of view, check out Connely's "The Mountaineering Handbook"

saw something on amazon, "avoiding the touch" Dvd's; there seems to be a series of them. They are all about strangers with candy in vans or something... No seriously, they are about self rescue, increasing efficiency, etc... Take a peek.
