I'm considering going up the sulfide with some very fit friends this Friday. They have modest glacier experience so we should move at a fair pace but will not be setting any speed records. Since I have obligations this weekend, I wanted to do it in one day (or at the least, get back early Saturday). If you've done it in a day, how long has it taken? Also, if anyone has info on what kind of shape the sulfide is in, it would be appreciated.

Cheers

depending on how long it takes you up the pyramid 10-12 hrs would be at an ok pace...a good friend and her hubby did in under 8 in late late season form...i think early sept...but they were hoofing it and in great shape

the Sulfide should still be pretty tame

good luck!

Did Fisher Chimneys a couple days ago, so only saw the Sulphide from Hells Highway up.

Couple crevasses right there, easily skirted by the 3ft wide, 1 ft deep bootpack.
