olyclimber Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattle911/archives/173642.asp Q: I think I would be a good cop. But I've smoked pot. Will I be disqualified if I apply in Seattle? A: Each applicant is reviewed individually. But here are some of the selection standards set by Seattle police: # Applicants must have not used marijuana in the past three years. # Applicants must have not used marijuana more than 25 times in the past 10 years. # Applicants must have not used four or more controlled substances in the past ten years. # Applicants must have not used any illegal drugs or illegally used pharmaceuticals more than 25 times in the past 10 years. # Applicants must have not used any illegal drugs while employed in a criminal justice and/or law enforcement capacity. They also must have not manufactured or cultivated illegal drugs for the purpose of selling or marketing the drugs. Disqualifying offenses include any adult felony conviction and any misdemeanor or felony conviction while employed in a criminal justice or law enforcement capacity. Any domestic violence conviction also disqualify Seattle applicants. Quote
olyclimber Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 Hopefully you've only used illegal drugs 24 times in the past 10 years and not 26. but i'm wondering...does using them on two particular times on the same night count as separate instances? or as as single instance? what happens on the 26th time that causes the disqualification? Bosterson Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 what happens on the 26th time that causes the disqualification? "Moral values" have a 25 infraction buffer zone. Duh. Haven't you been reading the posts about philandering politicians? Quote

olyclimber Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 what about after you join the force? how many illegal uses do you get then? and then, after you quit, do you get extra for serving? how many do renta-cops get? to be honest, there should be zero policy. one strike you're out. if you even consider it, you are banned from public service. In fact, pack your bags and move to Canada. We aren't having you. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 You have to have a Taser to be a cop in Canada. I know, it's shocking. Quote
