TR WA Pass, newbie leader training.

Drove up to WA pass and did some scrambling with full gear.

A friend is learning how to lead so we did the S Arete of SEWS placing gear as though it mattered. Next, we did the Becky route on LB. It worked out quite well. I recommend the scenario for leader training.

We saw the same thing on the same SEWS route on Friday. Maybe it was you.

 

Anyway, we downclimbed the S. Arete of the SEWS, and what is with that bolt on the little shark fin traverse? Gimme a break.

That bolt has been the subject of debate many times, I think it's a guide thing. Isn't it over the edge and not very intrusive?

Figured it was a guide thing. It's whatever, just silly looking.

There's still room for more routes across that fin.
