Choada_Boy Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Any one have a beta or suggestions for climbing or bouldering around CDA? I'll be over there for a couple days this weekend and I'm looking to get out for a bit. I'm aware of some of the crags in and around Spokane but I'd like to check out whatever is close to CDA, if there is anything worthwhile. Thanks! Quote
John Frieh Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Post Falls is 8.6 miles away and has a good mix of sport and trad. Quote
pindude Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Also, in Coeur d'Alene, there's bouldering on granite at the west base of Tubbs Hill, near shoreline. Parking and TH at or near the CDA resort. Quote
Choada_Boy Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Tubbs Hill left me a bit wanting, as most of the good climbing was under water. I was told winter was better, when they lower the water level in the lake. Better luck at Post Falls, as I hooked up with a local in the parking lot who gave me a tour of the classics before I had to jet to watch my wife finish IMCDA. 150ish routes, sick easy approach, and we had the place to our selves, which he said is typically unheard of. Steep climbing on killer granite with great features, but the trad looked a bit sketchy due to the fractured nature of the rock. Thanks for the beta! Quote
