ClimbingCowboy Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Trip: Mississippi Palisades / Savanna IL - Sentinel and Brother Buttress Date: 5/3/2009 Trip Report: Only the second awesome weekend to hit northern Illinois this year. Found a horde of us from the Chicago Mountaineers clamoring-n-climbing the limestone to be found here. Must keep this short (much like the routes) but for any other wayward soul that may stumble upon this, will want to know of the addition of anchor bolts on Difficult Crack. And just for grins and giggles, who the heck has climbed Bee Wall? Gear Notes: TR with 20 - 30ft webbing for backup. Approach Notes: Just minutes from the truck. Quote
arentz Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Wow, what a blast from the past... I lived in Chicago during my grad school days. The Mississippi Palisades were one of the few climbing areas outside of Chicago worth going to. You should climb Fear of Flying, if you haven't yet. Quote
arentz Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Strike that last comment, looks like ampitheater wall (where fear of flying is) has been closed for a while. Anyway, it was fun when it was open. Quote
