JoshK Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Has anybody climbed, or heard about conditions of, ice in Montana recently? I checked MontanaIce.com and the conditions reports were way out of date. It looks like it's stayed cold recently, but I haven't followed the weather or conditions there this year. thanks! -j Quote
cfire Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Very good a few weeks ago. http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/870008/TR_Hyalite_Some_ice_2_19_2_24_#Post870008 Try calling Barrell Mountaineering for up to date, but I'm sure there is plenty to play on. Quote
kevino Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I talked to a local and said that everything is good now and should stay in for a while. He gave me a link to a weather station up in the canyon. Barely getting above freezing during the day. Quote
Bug Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 It was +18F in the Missoula valley two nights ago. It has been cold for awhile. Quote
JoshK Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 Cool, thanks for the info folks, it sounds like we should have some fun. I'm meeting a friend there to climb Monday->Friday, so hopefully no heat waves move in. Quote
kevino Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Be sure to post some pictures or info when you get back. My plan is to be there the following week. THanks. Quote
