And FYI, the goop on the Nupstes is leftover epoxy that was used to secure a pair of supergaiters. The leather and soles are in excellent condition. The only blemish is that the cloth eyelets in the bend of the ankle have torn out (Sportiva's cloth eyelets were a bad idea...) but I have used them many times without these and they tighten perfectly well.
