This kind of story makes me regret letting my Amateur license expire.

 

 

On the other hand, this could be seen as propaganda from the CW only crowd to make a point about how every Amateur should have to learn CW to pass the test...

 

While dufus was carrying around some CW rig, I'll bet that if he tried well enough, he could have found cell phone coverage from a peak...

 

But noooooo... He had his trusty Elecraft KX1 mini CW tranceiver...
