Anyone use Scarpa Omega boots?

when they first came out, I thought the arches were too high and my flattish feet got blisters under the arch after some 8 odd miles. I sold them right away. Maybe it was a fluke. Maybe they changed the design. Maybe you have high arches. This was something I couldn't determine in the store.

The arches are high, but they're also sized weird. I normally wear a 9.5ish boot, but got these in an 8.5.

 

That said, I really like them. Considering that they're like half the weight of many plastics, they're very warm and quite sensitive for climbing. They're not even that bad for trail hiking - I wore them for the whole 6 mile approach to the Brothers and my feet were fine. I highly recommend them, if they fit your feet.

Great boots. All I own are 2 pair of thees sized tight for vert ice, big for walking

 

Better than leather, light an precise over all other plastics.

 

I would not use it other than mild mountain cold, of out for the day on ice, Then I would get a better insulated boot.

 

But i love the Omegas and the Alphas.
