I remember my Dad forbade us from wearing our New Balance on the boat if they had hot glue repairs, which was pretty common in those days when we were on the cross country team. I've tried Barge cement for a similar (poor-climbing-style-induced) tear on my old shoes. that didn't work so well. another thing that didn't work so well was duct tape over the toe. what did work pretty well was getting them resoled. denalidave Posted October 23, 2008 Share Posted October 23, 2008 I just sent my mythos to these guys - Yosemite Bum Resol Linky - and they did a great job for a reasonable price. Half soles & rand replaced for $45 but you have to pay for shipping as well. It's best to replace the whole rand vs just patching it as the patch will usually come off again.
