counterfeitfake Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Hey, bivy wherever you want, do what makes you happy. But if you bivy uncomfortably on the summit when you had time to descend a short distance to a plush spot, that can fairly be called "contrived". Quote
korup Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I've bivied on serveral Colorado 14'ers, and gotta say, damn fun. Highly recommended if you've got nice weather. Quote
sobo Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Well, as long as we're all being total language geeks, Mr. Rad, the instance of "it's" in your first example: "Its my lead, you wanker!" is a contraction of "it is" and thus should be "it's." Its as a possessive would be, say: "West McMillan is pretty but its summit is unsuitable for a bivy, according to some douchebags." should douchebag be hyphenated? This site would say "no" in answer to your question. And nice catch, tanstaafl. I was going to pinch the 3rd Place Drone on it until I checked to make sure no one else already had. Quote
