kevino Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 So I've heard if you send certain pieces of gear to BD with only a return address they will fix it and return it for free (ie re-slinging cams and such)...any idea about a tear in a firstlight tent? Long story short...I set it up to dry after a weekend trip, I came back and it was moved like ten feet and on its side ( I think my landlord's dog got into it.) So now there is an 8 inch tear that runs parallel with one of the poles. Any other recommendations on how to fix it? Duct tape? Quote
Blake Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 You might need two kits. You can trim the patches to work across a long/skinny tear. Normal Seam grip has a hard time on silicone-impregnated fabrics. Quote
John Frieh Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Send it to BD. Be honest and offer to pay... you might have to but chances are they hook you up. Even if you do end up paying they do top job repairs for cheap cheap cheap. Putting cookies or a pound of really good coffee in the box when you mail it to them helps Quote
rbw1966 Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I put a hole in my Bibler when the pole slipped in my hand and shot through the bottom. This was 3 days before leaving for Denali. I fedexed it to them and had it back in time for my trip--all I paid for was shipping. Call them. Quote
