WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Looking for Mt. Hood rope team

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to join a rope team that is going up the SouthSide/Hogsback route. I have my own gear and have practiced the techniques required for mountaineering and crevasse rescue. I've climbed for 5 years and am trying to branch off into mountaineering as well. Open any time during the week or weekend. Would be happy to supply first round after the climb.

Thanks

John

It's just me, but I'd be happy to participate in such a rope team. Most weekends this summer I could be available. Have gear and some experience.

Same as jmo. I'm game.

I was at Mount Hood this winter for some skiing and crevasse rescue practice but didn't have a chance to do any climbing above Timberline.

How about June 7th. Leave Timberline lodge at 2-3 am via the hogsback.

I am new to portland and have mountaineering experience. It sounds like there is enough interest to have a 4 person rope team.

Can't do June 7 but I'm off every other weekend and lots of weekdays. Been climbing for a few years. I just finished a mountaineering course with the Mazamas. Been up Hood once via hogsback/southside.

I'm interested in joining up with you guys. I'd have to drive from Seattle after work on Friday, but I'll be down for that. I've been wanting to climb Hood for a while now.

Slippery Pete

Join in, so far it looks like a for sure two man rope team, a maybe foursome with you and JMO. It would be great to meet some new folks and broaden each others climbing community. Anyone else interested in starting another rope team?

Pete, if I can make it, would you be interested in carpooling from the Tacoma area?

I can do June 7th too. I would be headed down from Kirkland (work) or North Seattle (home) on Friday, so maybe Pete and I could pick up jmo in Tacoma.

My work schedule is crazy this week, but I haven't heard about anything for the 7th yet. Hopefully I don't get off too late on the 6th.
