kevin trieu Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 (edited) Hey folks, There are three of us, two dudes and one chick coming up from Southern California to attempt Mt. Rainier via Liberty Ridge, weather permitting. We are "experienced" dirtbag climbers. Have climbed extensively in the Sierra, been up the Mexican Volcanoes and Denali. We have been up Rainier via the tourist routes (Ingraham Direct, DC-Emmons variation) a couple of times. We are looking for one or two more partners to rope up with. We are primarily trying to avoid renting a car because it costs money. Yes, this means that we are looking for peeps that can provide transportation. You'll be reimbursed, of course. Gas, beer money and possibly dinner. Our itinerary will look something like this, based on if we can find cheap flights: 5/22 pm - Arrive at Sea-Tac around 7pm. Drive to White River campground. 5/23 am - Start climb and try to get to Thumb Rock. 5/24 early am - Summit Push. Bivy somewhere if we are dead tired or go straight back down to Camp Shurman via the Emmons. 5/25 whenever - get off the mountain. 5/26 whenever - fly back to LA. Any other dirtbag climbers wanting to connect with other dirtbag climbers? Cheers, Kevin Edited April 11, 2008 by kevin trieu Quote
DPS Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 5/22 pm - Arrive at Sea-Tac around 7pm. Drive to White River campground. I would not expect to be able to drive to the White River campground, the road is typically closed until Memorial Day, or later, most years. This adds about 6 miles or so to the approach. Quote
