new-tricks Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Friends and I had some good waterfall ice near Kamloops area 5 years ago, when I wasn't quite a climber. Now I no longer live in the area and would like to revisit ice climbing places near kamloops. any pointers ? thanks in advance Quote
G-spotter Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 wells gray is called "the waterfall park" for a reason. head north. the only published info is a 1988 CAJ article. other than that there's a 20m WI2 right in town somewhere marble canyon is an hour west ice between salmon arm and revelstoke is 2 hours east. new-tricks Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Marble Canyon is too crowded on weekends. Maybe the impression of Kamloops ice has become a fairy tale over time ... I should just climb the stanley park seawall when temp drops. Quote
Don_Serl Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Marble Canyon is too crowded on weekends. friends there on saturday afternoon - NO cars (count 'em = zero) in the parking lot! WAY too crowded... cheers, Quote
kurthicks Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Same thing at Rambles yesterday afternoon. 2 cars. SO busy... Quote
G-spotter Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Nobody but us on Crucible and Jackass and the two new routes we climbed. No sign of ice climbers and tons of fat ice elsewhere in the Thompson/Fraser Canyon. Quote
