MtnManMatt Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 ...as in no headlamp needed. Planning a trip to AK in April and wondering how many "climbing hours" we'll have each day. Quote
DPS Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I was in the Ruth Gorge the first two weeks of May and we had about 3 hours of darkness. I know this because we ended up sitting out for 3 hours waiting for daylight after getting benighted on a climb. Quote
denalidave Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I'd bring the headlamp, especially if you are further north than Anchorage. Should have fairly long days, depending on how far north you are. Quote
wfinley Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 April nights are still long, cold and dark. Bring a headlamp; preferably one with both a LED and Halogen bulb. Quote
