jared_j Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 A friend and I want to hit some easily toprope-able ice either in the Snoqualmie pass or Leavenworth areas (Millenium wall?). The weather forecast looks good (cold, no more snow) and the avalanche risk looks like it's settled down at Snoqualmie. If anyone heads up there before then, beta about conditions would be appreciated. Quote
Alex Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 With the recent weather you may be taking your gear for a walk. But hiking looking for ice beats sitting on ass at home watching TV. Quote
lancegranite Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 The weather in L-town has not dipped below freezing in 3 days. Quote
geordie Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 We went for a hike today around Bridge Creek. Pretty warm and thin. Didn't take tools, just out to stretch the legs. It will be a while before anything comes in. Quote
Hendershot Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Damn, thanks for the heads up though! Quote
lazyalpinist Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Judging from current live view of Icicle Junction (in town) it doesn't look like that water is flowing. 27° is current temp. You might get lucky up the creek. http://www.iciclejunction.com/minigolfwebcam.htm Quote
FBCC Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 FYI Snoqualmie A buddy of mine hiked around Alpental today and said it looked bleak; not worth wasting our time on. He didn't hike as far back as Source lake so not sure about that area. Quote
jared_j Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 A buddy and I went to Alpental in search of easy ice on Sunday not wanting to stay indoors. Alpental I - IV are nowhere close to in yet, and Chairlift Falls has got a ways to go yet. Others were able to find ice on Chair according to another thread on the board. Quote
