cynicalwoodsman Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Does anything ever form on the Oregon side of the river? Just curious. Quote
cynicalwoodsman Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 it's north-facing and looks to have some drips when viewed from the east-bound lane of I84. Quote
kurthicks Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 yes. it must be pretty cold and windy. search the forums and see what comes up. Quote
Mountainstyle Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 It sure does, do a search for "Crown Jewel" or "Ainsworth" in the ice climbing forum. Quote
JosephH Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I typically climb at Beacon whenever it's dry until it closes Feb 1. every year and this year is looking quite dry compared to the same time last year. I was up there Friday and today and while it's early and likely brief, it has been cold up there and it seems as though there isn't enough water running for much more than a glaze on most all of them despite the fact Multnomah Falls appears to be running fairly well. Mist Falls is the most iced up of all the lower falls, but far from climbable. It will be interesting to see how it goes this year. Quote
