dmuja Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Whats best way to take a high rez/high quality slideshow presentation from its current ".wmv" format and get it on to a common "dvd" disk playable by anyone with a dvd player? I don't want to lose either sound or picture quality if thats possible. Simplicity and quality are the priorities, followed by cost and timeliness. I don't want to depend on or lug around a puter and digital projector etc.. just to play wmv files! Any ideas? Programs? Suggestions? for a not-so-techie? Thanx D Quote
fenderfour Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Adobe premiere elements can be had for $60 online. It will translate the file for you. Quote
dmuja Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 Thanks FF, I wonder what this conversion might do to the quality of picture and sound vs the original file format. I guess Ill just have to give one of these progs a go and find out. Quote
JayB Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I use the "Digital Media Converter" program for this kind of thing, which is available for around $40, and allows you to specify the format and the size/quality of the output file. It's worked pretty well for me so far, with the only caveat being that huge files take a fair amount of time to convert. Available here: http://www.deskshare.com/dmc.aspx Quote
olyclimber Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Doesn't the Windows Movie Maker or whatever its called (I'm a Mac snob now) that comes free with windows allow you to burn wmv directly to disk (CD or DVD)? Quote

You should be able to keep all of the quality. Quote
