WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Jaccuzzi on Mont Blanc, anyone?

Recommended Posts

Too bad it didnt break open spilling them down the hill. I'd love to watch a bunch of freezing wet idoiots sliding down a mountain trying to selfarrest with their bare hands and feet. Now that would be good tv.

This is the reason why many alpinists recently turned to Italian side of the Mont Blanc looking for place where you can still do something. And that something is stil far away from Megalodon Ridge or climbs Wayne112 or Colin does. :-)

It's a sad thing.

Looks to me like degradation of the summit. I feel sorry for all climbers who will go climbing and thinking that Mont Blanc is walk in the park. Hey, they had a jacczzy there last week!

Many people getting killed there because of misinterpretation of similar events like this.

I totally agree, thats why I would take such pleasure in watching them slide down the mountain like the idiots they are.

Off topic, but a Russian Tennis star, Marat Safin, just recently left an expedition he was on to climb Cho Oyu. He had only made his first ascent of a mountain on the trek over to Cho Oyu. This just shows how publicity has changed peoples perception of climbing, cho oyu may be one of the "easiest" 8000ers but people still die there. I think this along with the jacuzzi business lure alot of stupid people to the mountains every year. I just hope im never around and have to try to rescue one of their asses.

Would you rescue them, or just "laugh as they slide down the mountain"?

I would laugh as the fools who did the jacuzzi slid down the mountain, i would rescue the people who get out over there heads because someone pulls a stunt like this making them think climbing is a walk in the park.
