Lake Ann Crag Routes

The Beckey guide lists two rock routes on the south facing crag above Lake Ann that you pass en route to the Fisher Chimneys.

 

Has anyone in recent memory (like the last 20-30 years) ever climbed either of these routes? They looked kinda interesting the one time I was in there.

Have not climbed the routes, but have been right along side them. I remember the rock not being nearly as solid as the rock on/near the summit pyramid. FWIW.

At that time I was shooting film and finished the roll in the chimneys. Otherwise I would have tried to photograph my hallucinations on the trail out.

A friend of mine told me that it looks like they are building a "wheelchair-accessible trail" to Lake Ann alongside the existing trail. There's a backhoe tearing out trees, etc., right now. Sounds pretty wild to me. Anyone know anything?

A four mile wheelchair trail? Through the wetland and across those creeks and up that grade to the lake? Sounds like someone's practical joke (although I don't doubt the report of backhoes).

 

Besides, since when does the Forest Service have that kind of money with so many roads out?
