G-spotter Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 The Beckey guide lists two rock routes on the south facing crag above Lake Ann that you pass en route to the Fisher Chimneys. Has anyone in recent memory (like the last 20-30 years) ever climbed either of these routes? They looked kinda interesting the one time I was in there. Quote
Tom_Sjolseth Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Have not climbed the routes, but have been right along side them. I remember the rock not being nearly as solid as the rock on/near the summit pyramid. FWIW. PHOTO TAKEN JUNE, 2002. Quote
G-spotter Posted September 21, 2007 Author Posted September 21, 2007 did you get a picture? At that time I was shooting film and finished the roll in the chimneys. Otherwise I would have tried to photograph my hallucinations on the trail out. Quote
catbirdseat Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 A friend of mine told me that it looks like they are building a "wheelchair-accessible trail" to Lake Ann alongside the existing trail. There's a backhoe tearing out trees, etc., right now. Sounds pretty wild to me. Anyone know anything? Quote
builder206 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 A four mile wheelchair trail? Through the wetland and across those creeks and up that grade to the lake? Sounds like someone's practical joke (although I don't doubt the report of backhoes). Besides, since when does the Forest Service have that kind of money with so many roads out? Quote
