every fucking canadian skier has a faded bright colored fart bag one piece somewhere in their closet, as far as I can tell.

I also still have my stretchy ski suit in my closet...should be back in style on of these years

Are you all serious? I find it hard to beleive any BC skiers don't see the wisdom and benfits of bibs. Seriously, WFT? Maybe it is just a matter of "same planet, different world."

I used to wear bibs (I admit). They are old Marmot version and I honestly could not imagine winter climbing without similar. I was fully intending to replace them with the pricey ARc'Teryx model when I could afford it. In the meantime, I picked up a pair of Patagonia Super Guide softshell pants. Now I don't want bibs anymore.

...And I know best...

If you are intent on bibs, but haven't tried softshell, you may want to reconsider.

I don't understand-

listen to the marketing better.

they aren't the same, but each works well 90% of the time. In my experience the 10% where softshell sucks (cold wet rain) is much nastier to deal with than the 10% where hardshell sucks (warm temps where you shouldn't be wearing pants anywhere).
