markamcclure_dup1 Posted June 25, 2001 Posted June 25, 2001 I am planning to head up to N.Cascades next week and hope to do some climbs on Liberty Bell and South Early Winter Spires. Since most of these climbs are doable in one day, I am hoping to find campsites in the area to serve as a base. Anyone know of any good options in the area for camping? I haven't seen much in the guidebooks re: camping options... -Mark Quote
mattp Posted June 25, 2001 Posted June 25, 2001 Klipchuck Campground, about ten miles down the highway to the east, is very pleasant and much sunnier than the one right next to road which is the closest to the pass. It can be full on a nice weekend, though. Quote
specialed Posted June 25, 2001 Posted June 25, 2001 Pay Campgrounds are way beat. Park at a trailhead and bivy. I also reccomend the Visitors Area as it is close and has full services! Quote
Alex Posted June 25, 2001 Posted June 25, 2001 I usually just camp out in the vehicle at Blue Lake Trainhead. Not sure if this is permiitted/sanctioned or not, but the hairpin pullout underneath the Lib Bell group also works in a pinch. Alex Quote
