kcclimber3 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I'm going to Elbrus at the end of June and would like a recommendation on a good summit/day pack that is lightweight, hydration compatible, and just large enough (2500 cu in?) to store essential extra layers, etc. I have a 75L Pack that I will use on our ascent up to the barrels, but would prefer not to use it on summit day as it weighs in at around 6.5#. Thanks... Quote
G-spotter Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Serratus Genie from MEC or similar Cilogear imitation. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 (edited) Golite Jam. Great pack, and not just for summits. In any case, get a pack with compression straps (the Genie has none, plus it's too small for what you're looking for). Edited May 18, 2007 by tvashtarkatena Quote
kcclimber3 Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 thanks everyone for the feedback...I will check each out; the golite may be a bit more versatile and it only weighs 21 oz. Quote
Mark_Husbands Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 MEC alpinelight 30 is sort of an accoutered Genie. I like. Quote
