Unreleasedenergy Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I'm headed up to the ice fields in late June, just wondering if anyone has been up NW shoulder direct or the North bowl routes recently. I'm looking at either the direct and/or photo finish as possible routes to fill out my week. Specifically, I'm wondering about the conditions of the cornices on direct and seracs on photo finish? those were both mentioned as hazards and condition dependent by the selected book of lies. Thanks. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Maybe you should ask in early June? Quote
Unreleasedenergy Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 I will be, but as I'm still planning and getting things together, I'm not really asking what the conditions will be late June. I was curious about how those hazards have been on those routes so far this season so I can get a feel for what has been happening. Quote
AlpineK Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Here are some old photos (from 1984) of Photo Finish At the base of the route Looking down towards the tour bus The hole I dug to summit I'm sure things in 2007 are a lot diferent than 1984, but hopefully it's something to psych you up. Good luck! Quote
