kevino Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Anyone ever do any iced/mixed climbing out in Tieton River Canyon off of Hwy 12? I was out there today doing some sport climbing and saw lots of ice. Just looking for suggestions if anyone has any. Otherwise looking forward to lots of FA's sunday! Quote
Alex Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 In really fortunate years, like this year, that shorter stuff forms up. But most years the canyon is too dry. If you see something compelling, go do it! Its all just fun anyway, right? Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 There is no ice in the hills there, these are not the climbs you are looking for. Â Quote
kevino Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 Quiet you. Â Doesn't matter anyway since my partner bailed on me! Quote
AlpineMonkey Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I think its mile post 118, perhaps suckbm can confirm, we spoted a huge flow up and left. It looked comparable in size to Hubba Hubba in L-worth. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 There is a lot of stuff up there and I suspect some exploring would discover a hidden cirque or two with some real gems in them. Of course, it all depends on how cold it's been. Quote
