G-spotter Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 When I was screw shopping this year I decided to cough up a bit more money and try the Grivel 360 and Petzl Sonic instead of just buying more BD Turbos. The 360 is kind of weird with the flip-out lever and clip in next to the head. Still haven't decided whether I like it or not. It took me one day to get used to the Petzl rotating bolt-hanger handle. Now I like it more than the BD. The teeth are very sharp and didn't even dull when it accidentally got rocked. The ability to clean it while keeping the draw clipped saves time. Overall I think it was worth paying $10 CDN more for and I will probably get one or two more of these as older screws get retired. Has anyone ever seen a DMM Revolution or whatever they are called for sale in North America? The ice screw, not the pulley-biner. Quote

They place nicely and the extra huge teeth make them especially easy to get started. The laser sonics are nice, but I still love my Grivel Helix screws the best. The hanger seems like it would get in the way with little ice bulges while placing, but this hasn't been a problem. They rackup like no other, too. :tup: Quote
