gertlush Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Trip: Marble Canyon & Box Canyon - various Date: 1/21/2007 Trip Report: Had the good fortune to get out the last 2 weekends. First is a couple of pictures from Marble Canyon of Deeping Wall & Icy BC. We dicked around on the start of Icy BC for a while until a kind Scottish gentleman led it for us so we could top-rape the entire thing 8D Then Mr. Serl was fishing for partners this last weekend and caught himself a little minnow so it was off to Box Canyon up the Coquihalla. Fun snowshoe in through knee deep powder, loads of snow covering the routes though. The canyon pretty interesting in itself. The Grim Reaper Fear of Fungi etc in the right side & Mister Natural wall(?) on the left. Don led the 2 pitches of Rigor Mortis which was great fun I thought, but then I was seconding. Here he is on pitch 2: Sadly tragedy stuck on the descent....as we rapped off a wily tree plucked my adze from my harness loop and I watched as it bounced out of sight. It must have cut into the snow like an effing scalpel because there was no entry hole & despite our sweeps no sign of it was found. Gear Notes: Ice stuff Approach Notes: Snowshoes for Box Canyon Quote
