Doug_Hutchinson
On Friday, Todd Stevens and I climbed the Coe Icefall. Started at about 7500' and exited off at about 9500'. Pretty straightforward route-finding with some very hard water ice in places. The climb is in great shape but the descent took a lot longer than it would earlier in the season due to intermittent water ice making even lower angle slopes thought-provoking. rbw1966
Ivan and I were on the North Face long enough to see it was a shooting gallery so moved over to the north side of Cooper Spur where we found a waterfall we wanted to give a try on. Found it was frighteningly brittle so bailed to an easier gully that topped out on the Cooper ice flow. Scary traverse made our exit thought provoking as well. I wish it would snow.
