As many of you know, vandals have damaged almost all the existing aluminum signage. On my visit yesterday, I noticed that someone has installed new signs in at least three places that are made out of sturdy welded steel. The letters are actually cut right out of the metal. These signs are quite aesthetically pleasing.

Indeed they are nice and are very complementary to their environment, but since they are held in place by rocks and not set in concrete, I hope some dipshit doesn't come along and rip them off! madgo_ron.gif

Weekend_Climberz, MCash, and Tvashtarkatena worked together on Sunday to anchor two of the signs in concrete. They couldn't find a third sign. My original post suggested three signs were there, but I can't remember anymore.

So is one of the new steel signs missing?

MCash and I found one of the old signs on the Middle East Wall ledge trail. It had been chucked off the cliff above. It was one of the "Don't Bust the Crust" signs. We left it there as we figured it would be safer there. What it needs is to have the aluminum bolted on top of a steel plate and then the post set in concrete.

YO! how about a base plate with a bolt hole(S) than bolt the sign to a large rock, than it can't be moved and you don't have to haul concrete,I'll do the welding.Thank's for the new signs(very cool) they fit the rustic atmosphere of Vantage/coulee.

OH Thanks to the powers to be it has not changed , I went there this weekend , free car camping ,big jugs, lots of routes for an old fat man, warm dry rock, good friends! VANTAGE ROCKS !!!
