Jens Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I don't use leashes on my quarks and am finally getting around to removing the screw with the stud for a clipper system on the shaft. Any ideas for how to plug the hole? I don't just want to duct tape it. It should ideally be small, tough, stand up to rain, and piolet caning, not leak, and match the silver color of the tool. Any ideas? Quote
Farrgo Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Standard duct tape works fine, you just need to make sure you have a few layers or it will blow through. Other than that, doesn't the quark come with a plastic fitting for that hole? The old version did at least. I have rubberized splicing tape on my shafts so its not exposed. But when alpine season come, I strip the tools down to the essentials and just leave duct tape which I can pillage for repairs and what not while on route. Quote
fenderfour Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 An appropriately sized allen wrench set-screw could fill the hole. You may want to apply some sort of sealant to prevent rusting Quote
Kevin_Matlock Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Don't know your specifics, and if you NEVER intend on using the hole again, how about liquid steel/aluminum? You know, the toothpast crap in the tube. It's silver and pretty bomber. Quote
