Choada_Boy Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Warning: You might want to check the U.B.C.s "V.O.C." (Varsity Outdoor Club) schedule before heading up to Squish. We got unlucky and shared the day with all 200 of them. As we drove into town early and came around the corner into Murrin, expecting to see no one, they were massed at the Bog Wall, filling the parking lot. Needless to say, the crags were crawling with people all day. If you're at UBC, you might want to think about joining the Junior Varsity Outdoor Center. The two VOC "guides" next to us spent two hours spraying to a captive audience of noobs about useless shit they really didn't need to know until anyone actually got tied in and climbed. Perhaps the JVOC is smaller and staffed by less awesome climbers, leading to more actual climbing for trip participants. Quote
G-spotter Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 But look at the sexy boy-on-boy fun they had at the afterparty?! Quote
Mr_Phil Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Mobs in climbing areas suck. (Unless, of course, they are our mob.) Quote
chris_stolz Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Hm. Squamish has, what, 1500 climbs in the McLane guide, another 500 or so in the sport climbing guide, at least 500 boulder problems...and you still stuck around Murrin? Quote
